As a Berrett-Koehler author, you will

Receive extensive, individualized editorial coaching to polish and sharpen your manuscript.
We'll also send your manuscript to outside reviews in your field to get the perspectives of potential readers. - Work with our production team to develop an effective and attractive interior and exterior design. We collaborate with you every step of the way, from concept through development to execution.
- Benefit from BK's multi-channel sales and marketing approach where we actively promote our books through systems we have set up to maximize distribution.
- Meet regularly with your marketing team—experts in book marketing, sales, social media, publicity, and translation and electronic rights—for updates, ideas, and support. We start several months before publication and continue to meet regularly through two months after your book comes out. But even after that, you can reach out directly to individual employees for help.

Our books are distributed to bookstores (including online bookstores) by
Penguin Random House,
the distribution arm of the biggest publishing house in the world, and are available all over the world in their English-language versions.
We are Multilingual
Our books have been translated into over 60 languages, from Albanian to Vietnamese (no Zulu yet, but we're not giving up!)
BK Authors Community
As an author, you will have access to the collective wisdom of
BK Authors,
our unique author community. They offer training, mentoring, and an annual retreat.
As a new BK author, your first year of membership is paid by Berrett-Koehler Publishers.
We Give Back
In 2013, we supported the incorporation of a 501(c)(3) organization, the Berrett-Koehler
Foundation, as a sister organization to our company. Their mission is "enabling emerging young
leaders to create a world that works for all, by helping them put into practice the strategic ideas and
methodologies described in BK books…." We continue to support them with a percentage of our pre-tax profits.
We are the only publisher that is both a B-Corporation and a California Benefit Corporation. Both of these certifications require adherence to very rigorous social and environmental standards. So, this is our way of proving we walk our talk.
