Celebrating our International Partners on our 25th Anniversary: JLM Agency (Greece)

In 2017 we are celebrating the 25 th anniversary of our founding. From the very beginning, Berrett-Koehler books have been widely translated to many different languages and wonderfully received all over the world. Over the years, we have signed over two thousand foreign translation rights deals. We could not have done this without the tireless work of our translation rights agents around the globe. As part of our year-long celebration, we will be featuring one of these foreign partners every month.  We asked each of them to provide us with a few words describing their experiences working with BK.

In July, we have the pleasure of featuring our indefatigable partners in Greece. For over 20 years now, the team formed by John, Nelly and Tatiana Moukakos has been trying to find a home for our books in Greece. It has not always been easy to work in a market facing periods of serious financial inestability, but this team never lost heart, and now that Greek publishers are back in force, we are soon to reach 40 deals in Greece. Here is what John wrote to us:

It is, of course, wonderful to see Berrett-Koehler Publishers celebrate the first 25 years in the world of publishing and JLM is honored to be the partner featured in your  blog as well as in the July issue of BK Communique.

Interestingly enough we, too, are celebrating our 23rd anniversary this year and have had the wonderful fortune of being able to share a very happy and harmonious business relationship with BK virtually from the start. Our excellent collaboration –from every aspect– and the strong, essential list of works have contributed to BK becoming one of the cornerstones of the agency. In fact, it’s no surprise that a selection of equally strong and serious Greek publishers have established a permanent place for BK titles on their list!

Here’s to many more profitable and productive years ahead!
