About BK Expert Directory (& Pricing)

The BK Expert Directory is a service that allows customers to find experts and consultants in a wide range of fields relating to change at the personal and organizational levels. Many of the experts in The BK Expert Directory are also Berrett-Koehler authors, and will be noted as such on their profile pages.

For Customers - The BK Expert Directory is a FREE service for you. You may search for an expert by expertise, name, or location. The profile for each expert provides information on service, clients, fee structure, and endorsements.

For BK Experts - To be listed on the directory, there is a small annual subscription fee ($25 to $75) and a 10% referral fee tied to the first paid engagement originating from the BK Expert Directory. See the Get Listed and Terms and Conditions sections for more details.

How can I tell what kinds of engagements are available, such as speaking engagements, seminars, workshops, or extended consulting?
Each expert profile will describe the services provides in the description section.

What should I look for in determining the best fit?
Deep expertise in your chosen area, backed up by strong references, are good indicators of excellent service potential. You may also be looking for local talent for local engagements rather than searching a nation-wide talent pool. There are multiple ways to search the directory to determine the best fit for you.

What are the various fee structures that I should be familiar with during exploratory discussions with a consultant?
Usually fee structures will be discussed in the context of the specific engagement. Some change agents may choose to publish fees, or a range of fees, on the directory.

How do I contact the expert?
Once you have chosen a potential expert for your organization, click the Contact button below his/her name on the profile page. You will be asked to fill in your name, organization, and contact information. The directory will then send them a private message with your contact information. You will then hear directly from the expert to start discussions about a potential engagement.
