Ethan S. Sanders is a fellow with ICF International’s Human Capital Strategies Group. He is former president of Sundial Learning Systems and former director of organization development for the U.S. Navy’s Human Performance Center. Before founding Sundial Learning Systems, he was manager of instructional design for ASTD, where he led the research and writing of two major competency studies, redesigned several of ASTD’s courses, and participated in high-profile research studies on the profession. Before joining ASTD, he worked as an internal consultant in the publishing and banking industry and was a training manager in the transportation industry. He is the co-author of ASTD Models for Learning Technologies, ASTD Models for Workplace Learning and Performance, Performance Intervention Maps: 36 Strategies for Solving Your Organization’s Problems, HPI Essentials, and the ASTD courses on “Human Performance Improvement in the Workplace.” He also teaches several of ASTD’s courses offered through public and corporate seminars. He holds a master’s degree in applied behavior science from Johns Hopkins University.
